Especially after first advising me against getting personal, and then calling me a leftist pseudo-intellectual with a narrow perspective, who has been blinded by his intellectual arrogance !! :D

Nonetheless, I appreciate the thinking that went behind this blog, though I wish you would have included Arpita Patra's reply to her status update. It was a well-written reply.

I have mentioned this discussion in my blog too, and here are my two pennies on the issue:

http://heartranjan.wordpress.com/2011/06/14/m-f-husain/Hridayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15487736070150416777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445604088553300714.post-88133931592728854562011-06-14T17:17:40.416+05:302011-06-14T17:17:40.416+05:30Yes,as most of us would agree, freedom and reason ...Yes,as most of us would agree, freedom and reason ought to be balanced.Freedom always comes with a sense of responsibilty.Somewhere a line has to be drawn as we are in a society where not many are called for the amount of tolerance required to make this world a better place to live in.It might be 'Freedom of Expression' for an artist,it might be hurting their sentiments for somebody else. But,what is more important is that we are to live in harmony.

Though, most of us reading this blog, can appreciate that nudity is not synonymous to obscenity,we cannot expect everybody else to do so.But,what concerns me is that the protestor's could not accept MFH's apology and expaination that his paintings meant no offence.Sisirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00282270781911494357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445604088553300714.post-17339394304188639292011-06-11T19:47:18.992+05:302011-06-11T19:47:18.992+05:30the right to freedom of expression should be shou...the right to freedom of expression should be should be exercised sensibly.Vardhmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09999906956235140589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445604088553300714.post-86120298616786453152011-06-11T19:15:32.960+05:302011-06-11T19:15:32.960+05:30@sir : aapne to mere dil ki baat keh di(comment ka...@sir : aapne to mere dil ki baat keh di(comment kar di)Vardhmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09999906956235140589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445604088553300714.post-7364030928040441952011-06-11T14:10:27.817+05:302011-06-11T14:10:27.817+05:30@Ratnadeep I Level with you 100% on this one.@Ratnadeep I Level with you 100% on this one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445604088553300714.post-11834239309163065572011-06-11T11:29:42.365+05:302011-06-11T11:29:42.365+05:30Good One Sir,

They asked me if censorship is necessary in a democracy like India. I said, "Our people are currently immature and not ready to accept different views. It is not becoming of a so-called secular nation but the awareness required to become broad-minded and accept all views will take quite a lot of time to come. Till then, censorship is needed, just for the reason that unnecessary vandalism can be avoided."
It was a lucky (for me as an interviewee, as I could quote a fact) coincidence that Gujarat had banned a book implying that Gandhi was gay just the previous day!Shilpa Sureshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15839196060660800285noreply@blogger.com
